Woman Discovers Engagement Ring in Her Garden—After 13 Years, It’s Found on a Carrot!

In 2004, a lady named Mary Grams misplaced her engagement ring while pulling weeds at her family’s‍ farm in Alberta, Canada. ⁣She thought it was gone for⁣ good.

Mary spent days searching for‌ her ring but ‍had‌ no luck. Then in 2017, ⁢nearly 13 years after ⁢losing it, ⁣her⁣ daughter-in-law pulled out⁤ a weird-looking carrot from the garden. It turned out that the carrot was wearing ‌something of its own! ⁢Tightly wrapped around the big orange root was ⁣a diamond ring!

“I ⁢went to the garden for something and saw this long ‍weed. For some reason, I picked it up and it must ⁣have caught on something⁢ and pulled [the ring] off,” Mary ‌Grams remembers about that day⁢ in⁤ 2004 when she lost her engagement ring. ⁣She had worn this⁣ piece ⁢on her finger since 1951, just before marrying Norman. “We looked high and ⁣low on our hands ⁤and knees but‍ couldn’t find it. I thought for⁣ sure either they… it or something happened to it.”

At that time, Mary didn’t tell her husband about losing the ring. ‍To avoid hurting his ‍feelings,⁤ she decided to buy herself⁤ a similar-looking one hoping he wouldn’t ‌notice.

“I didn’t tell him because I thought he’d‌ give me trouble or something,” Mary told CBC Canada.

Eventually, Mary and her family moved to Camrose but ⁤still took care⁣ of ‌their old garden near ‍ArmenᎥa which had been in their family for over⁣ 105 years.

“I knew it must belong to either grandma or⁤ my mother-in-law⁤ because no other women lived there,” Colleen Daley said to reporters. “I asked my husband if he recognized the ring; he ‌said‍ yes! His mom lost hers years ago in that same‍ garden and never found it again.”

Daley‌ added: “If you look at it closely ,it grew perfectly around [the ring]. ⁤It looked pretty strange.”
“I’ve never seen anything like that before; quite interesting!”

Of course ,Mary was excited to have her engagement rᎥng back again! She⁢ plans to wear it where it’s meant to be.

She said: “I’m going ‌to wear it because it’s still fits.”

Sadly ,Mary’s husband passed away over five years ago⁢ shortly after they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
